Enjoy your self this August, what seems to be the busiest month of all!

London 2012 Olympic Games- Millennium Square 

Join the atmosphere and BBC on the big screen from 8am to midnight every day of both the Olympic and Paralympic Games and plenty of sporting activities taking place each day: the ping pong, wheelchair basketball, tennis, squash, football, triathlon etc.

Bristol International Balloon Fiesta- from Thursday 9th August to Sunday 12th August

Visit largest annual hot air balloon event that was recently voted one of the top three tourism events by Visit England. The Fiesta attracts 500,000 visitors – and it’s absolutely free! Enjoy over 250 trade stands and caterers, infamous Nightglows, 150 balloons lift off- make your weekend fun packed day out for all the family and friends.

Bristol Pirate Walks – till the end of August.

Why not enjoy one-hour walk tour through the historic Bristol Harbourside. The walks cover Bristol’s often grizzly 16th, 17th and 18th century maritime history: trade, slavery and piracy. You will also discover Long John Silver’s treasure chest in the smugglers cave, visit Treasure Island’s Spy Glass Inn where the press gangs roamed and find Blackbeard’s Lair in the medieval port.

Join this year’s Treefest- Saturday 25 to Monday 27 August

Listen to local live music, see traditional woodcraft and woodland skills, meet local food producers and watch live cookery demonstrations. Treefest will accommodate over 100 exhibitors this year. Have a great time with whole family- kids entrance is free!
